Enrollment Process

FPDS currently has five classrooms: Infants-Ones, Twos-Threes, Fours-Fives and a virtual classroom space for 5-8 year-olds. We serve children between the ages of 6 weeks and 8-years-old.

Enrollment occurs based on availability:

  1. Families currently enrolled are given priority to renew their commitment for the following year, including any additional siblings.

  2. Families on the waiting list are then offered space (with attention to date of entry on the waiting list and priority—Children of staff, Duke affiliation, and board of directors).

  3. If there are any remaining spaces available after exhausting the waiting list, spaces will then be offered "first come, first served."

Upon acceptance of a space, families will provide a refundable deposit equal to one-half month of tuition. Deposit is only refundable if given a 30-day written notice.

Waiting List

All potential families are encouraged to submit the waitlist application due to enrollment priorities.

We invite you and your family to schedule a tour to meet our great team of teachers and staff, see the amazing learning environment, and get an overview of First Presbyterian Day School. Please complete our waitlist application and contact the school to schedule your tour.

Once you decide that First Presbyterian Day School is a good fit for your family, we will ask you to complete an application packet, at which time your deposit will be due.

I’ve been a childcare teacher for many years, but I must say this is by far the best center I’ve worked at. The staff is friendly, and the administration is the best ever, First Presbyterian makes it easy to get up every day and come to work, it really is a joy!!!
